Sim Lomy

Chair Board

Lomy is from Phnom Penh and has had a successful career in educational leadership. He has worked for over 10 years in Management along with 10 years in Education training. He has worked actively in Human Resource and has been responsible for recruitment and training within international organizations including PSE. He is also a member of the Tourism Training Club and Human Resource Association of Cambodia.

Eang Saroeun

School Director

Saroeun has been the School Director at Happy School, Children for Better Future (CBF) since 2014. He holds a Master of Education degree from Royal University of Phnom Penh. Previously he was the Program Manager for Connected Schools Org. Saroeun coordinated and advocates MoLVT, encouraging PTC directors to use e-learning system for vocational training. He also worked as a Reading Room Program Officer with Room to Read Cambodia to setting up libraries, providing training and supporting literacy skills to State Schools.
Ajay Handa

Ajay Handa

Board Member

Ajay is a qualified accountant and works as a Chief Financial Officer.  He has international experience and has worked for several blue-chip organizations and a number of Private Equity backed businesses. He now works for a Private Equity firm in the UK in the capacity of CFO and Operating Partner working with a number of international portfolio businesses. In 2017 Ajay volunteered with the Happy School in Phnom Penh and joined the Board in early 2018.

Kim Dara

Kim Dara

Board Member

Dara is an Educator. He has 30-year experience working in Cambodia’s education sector with 10 years as a classroom teacher and another 20 years with civil society agencies, working to improve the education sector in Cambodia. Currently Dara is a Country Director of World Education Cambodia. Dara has volunteered with CBF as a board member since 2010.

Charly Boerboom

Board Member

Charly is an English teacher who started his career 6 years ago. He now works at a vocational school where he teaches English to nurses and IT professionals and he also guides and assesses teachers in training from the University of Rotterdam. Next year, he will expand his expertise on education as he is going follow a master’s degree program which focusses on innovation in education. Charly volunteered with the Happy School in 2018 and joined the CBF board in 2019.

Kirk

Kirk Gibson

Chair Board

Kirk is an international development Project Manager with specialist skills in education, scholarships, citizen participation and leadership development.  He is currently working as a program design specialist with a Youth Leadership organization in Papua New Guinea and as a researcher for Latrobe University in Melbourne.  Kirk has been working for the Happy School since 2004 and on the CBF Board since it began in 2009. 

Sonja

Sonja Gaedicke

Board Member

Sonja is a sociologist and works as a researcher in the field of sexualized violence against children in sports at the German Sport University. She has working experience in public relations and as a project coordinator in intercultural projects. In 2011 Sonja volunteered with the Happy School in Phnom Penh and joined the Board in 2015. Sonja lives in Cologne, Germany.

Trent Scott

Board Member

Trent is currently the Director Business Development for The iPi Group of Companies based in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea.  Trent is a dynamic executive leader with 20 years’ experience building strong multi-discipline teams, committed to business development, international trade, education and driving innovative opportunities.  Trent was recently recognized for his work by the Lowy Institute as one of the Australia-PNG Emerging Leaders in 2017.
